• You are responsible for maintaining account security

• Upload illegal content or content you don't have rights to use
• Upload adult or inappropriate content
• Spam or overload the service
• Violate any laws or regulations
• Attempt to harm our service or other users

• You retain ownership of content you upload
• You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content back to you for providing the service

• You're responsible for ensuring copyright compliance
• No illegal, adult, or harmful content

4. Payment Terms

Pay-as-You-Go Credits

• Purchase credits for additional usage
• Credits never expire
• All purchases are final and non-refundable
• Payments processed by Stripe

5. Intellectual Property

• Janus and its original content remain our property
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our service
• Our AI models are provided by third parties

7. Disclaimers

Service Availability

• Provided "as is" without warranties
• We don't guarantee uninterrupted service
• Not a substitute for professional education or advice

AI-Generated Content

• AI models may produce incorrect information ("hallucinate")
• Content is grounded in your materials but should be verified
• You are responsible for verifying accuracy

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We're not liable for indirect damages
• Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from your:

• Use of the service
• Violation of these Terms
• Infringement of any rights

10. Copyright Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content on Janus infringes your copyright, please send us a notice containing the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• The URL or location on Janus where the allegedly infringing material is located
• Your contact information (name, address, email, and phone number)
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
• Your physical or electronic signature

Our Response

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will:

• Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content
• Notify the user who uploaded the content
• Terminate repeat infringers' accounts

Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notice to copyright@janus.cards with:

• Identification of the removed content and its former location
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake
• Your consent to jurisdiction in your local courts
• Your physical or electronic signature

11. Termination

• Either party may terminate at any time
• We may suspend access for violations
• Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases
• You may export your flashcards before termination
• We may delete your content after 30 days

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We'll notify you by email for material changes.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
